If you’re picking up cones for autocross , make sure to keep your eyes up for any approaching cars. Good situation awareness keeps you safe, like these top 5 quick-thinking workers from Saturday’s event:
5 — The one chilling too close to the finish line:
4 — Three workers standing downhill of the apex:
3 — Worker near my first big spinout of the day. He did the right thing and waved his yellow flag:
2 — Two workers directly downhill when I lost the tail end at full throttle:
And, in first place for “most surprised corner worker,” this guy taking his time to replace a cone at the start:
Verdict: when corner workers pay attention and get out of the way, everybody wins.

If the last one was near the start, the next car should not have been sent

They weren’t spacing out the cars as much as I would have liked. I agree, a little more time to reset cones would have made things easier for everyone.

Its always a tough balance of getting cars out quick to get all the runs in, and safety for course workers. Especially if the course is prone to come carnage
